Ignacy will be teaching Detective at GrandCon Gaming Convention. We are very excited for this game. Thank you for the wonderful play through instruction, Rodney!

It is worth noting that unlike many other Games from Portal and Ignacy, the rules are really super simple!

I have to say, the idea of giving the players permission to look up info on the internet about various real-world topics and people related to the in-game case is a really nice touch.

I also appreciate the idea of a game that's legacy-like, in that it's really designed to be played through once from start to finish, but doesn't actually destroy or ruin anything in the box preventing it from being played again should someone wish to do so.

When you say to set aside 3 to 4 hours, do you mean for one case, or all five cases?

Amazing video thank you 🙂 Can you pause the game at any point or do you have to do the full case in one go?

Somewhat serious question: (but not really) Will there be a Harry Dresden expansion? 😉

I was wondering about solo option. Is it fine to play this game as a solitaire?

  • Aaron Meyer

If this game continues to have expansion packs with more cases it seems good. Kind of like escape room games this one seems to have little life after you k ow the answers to each case.

Very interesting that the game uses modern technology in the game

This is surprisingly fiddly and the app implementation seems quite bad.

Really don't know why these videos always pick up 6 or 7 thumbs down straight away. They're just really good, clear, play throughs and rules explanations and I only wish the channel covered all the games I own! Really nothing I can see that would merit a thumbs down. Ah well, that's the internet I suppose. All the best.

I'd like to ask, how much is the replay value of the game? If i play again with the same people it'll end up the same way? Sorry for the poor english and great video as always!

I'm curious what will happen a year or two or more later. Will the website still be available or will it be offered in an application? I love the concept but am concerned about future plays.

Didn't watch all of this but wondering about replay ability. I'm assuming once you play a case it's pointless playing again as you'll already know how to solve it, yes/no?

What a unique game! I am a newb tho so is there other sorts of games like this? Ie more storybased co-op games? The only one I can think of is Tales of the Arabian Nights.

Question: Have you re-played a game after failing the first time? Did you return the future lead cards from other cases back into the original deck to fully "reset" the deck? Or did you keep them out and add to it after your second play. We decided to try and play Case I again to see if we can beat it (we lost the first play). We're not sure what to do with those clues we found and set aside?

BTW – your videos are great and this was a great overview for a VERY fun game. Thanks

Just got the game today! Really excited to play! I was worried about the replay value since it has 5 cases, but each case has more than one path to solve and hopefully more cases will be published. Great addition to my collection of mystery games, along with Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective.

Looks interesting, but i guess i will have the same problem with it as i have with Time stories- too little time to investigate everything.
I guess i just dont like games with timers, they stress me out.

  • Junaid Ansari

Great video. Are the stress tokens reset from day to day or are they cumulative and carryover from day to day on the same case?

    Reply
  • Piotr Klinger

Well explained! However, I have a question. Do we replenish action tokens provided by the consultants at the beginning of the next case? Or do we receive these tokens only at the beginning of the first case and later on we have to replenish them through special actions and authority tokens?

So. I play solo. Can I choose 1 investigator? Or do I need to do 2 or more? Rodney picks 2. That must be for a reason……

Do you think this could be played remotely?

I'll explain: two of our friends who we used to play games together went to live in another part of the world, so do you think some people could play using the physical board, and others using the web page in another place at the same time and we just put a video conference to talk to each other… so some would be like the tech guys and others like the on field guys…. or would we both remote "teams" need to have a physical copy of the game.
